Carol A. Hillis, 67, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 29. 2007 in a San Antonio hospital. She was born on Aug. 21, 1940 in Houston, Texas to Macil (Halston) and Vernon A. Keen. Carol was a Register Nurse and worked for hospice groups in Conroe and Vista Care Hospice, Kerrville. She moved to Kerrville in 2002 and was a member of Southern Oaks Baptist Church. She loved to read, birdwatching and travel especially Las Vegas. Carol loved her family and telling stories of when she was young. She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon & Macil Keene and her husbands.
Carol is survived by her 2 sons Cameron Paul Hinson and wife Trisha of Kerrville and Russell Scott and wife Beverly of Grandberry; step daughter BeBe Ratiff of Conroe; brother Ralph Keen and wife Anita of AK; grandchildren Renee Gibbs of Boerne, and Krista Hinson of Center Point; step grandchildren Amber, Stephanie and Tiffany Peschel; great grandchildren Konner and Brooklyn; also Carol's loving companion her dog Boomer and many other family members and friends who love her will miss her.
Visitation will be held 9 am, Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Kerrville.
Funeral services will follow at 10 am, with Pastor Taylor officiating the services.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Vista Care Hospice, 101 Water St. Suite B-100 Kerrville, Texas 78028.
