
Helen Smith at the age of 82 passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at a Kerrville, Texas hospital. She was born on July 23, 1925 in Shelby, NC. to Duran Putnam and Maybelle (Russ) Putnam. Helen was one of three children. Most of her working life was spent in the accounting field. She retired in 1996. She married Kenneth Smith and had been a resident of Ingram since 1994, having previously resided in Tomball, Texas, and Columbus Ohio, where Kenneth Smith was employed as an engineer. Helen was a member of Saint Michael and All The Angles church. They moved to Kerrville in 1994 after they retired. She will be fondly remembered as a strong willed person of great heart, great humor and piercing insight, with stories of her wit, pearls of wisdom and remarkable endurance told and retold in her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Edward and sister Verdie.
Helen is survived by her husband Kenneth Smith of Kerrville; daughter Nancy Scroggins and husband Randy of Kerrville; son John Camp and wife Sandy of Kerrville; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love her will miss her.
Memorial services will be held 10 am, Sunday, December 16, 2007 at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church (611 Harper Rd. "7th Day Adventist Church") Kerrville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Michael and All Angles Anglican Church or to the charity of your choice.
