Agnes A Easterwood Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1915 - 2007 Agnes A. Easterwood went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 28, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on Aug. 24, 1915 in Anchor, Texas to Joe Heim and Mary (Eha) Heim. Agnes was the youngest daughter in a family of five sisters and two brothers. She worked in her father's general store and helped with the family truck farm and cattle business. Early in her live she enjoyed riding horses and hunting/ Agnes was a elegant and beautiful young woman and was chosen to be the Football Queen for West Columbia High School and Miss West Columbia. She married Jack Easterwood in 1937 in Houston, Texas when he was working for the Oil Field Company in Brazoria County. Agnes had one daughter. She helped her husband in multiple business ventures to include working in the South Texas oil fields in Brazoria County ans appliance business in Pasadena, Texas and a homebuilding business in both Pasadena, Texas and Conroe, Texas. Agnes enjoyed decorating homes for the building business. She also enjoyed gardening and playing bridge. When they retired, she supported her husband in his volunteer prison ministry in Huntsville, Texas and hospital and juvenile ministries in Kerrville, Texas. Agnes was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Kerrville, Texas. She was a devoted wife helping her husband serve the Lord in his ministry. Agnes was the last living member of her immediate family. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister's, brother's and her husband Jack Easterwood who went to meet the Lord in 2004. Agnes is survived by her daughter Twila Beckey and husband retired Colonel Andrew of San Antonio, Texas; 2 grandsons Matthew Beckey of San Antonio, Texas and Mark Beckey of Pasadena, California; 3 nephew; 5 niece and many other family members and friends who love her will miss her. Funeral services will be held 3pm, Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Pastor Sherry Strain officiating the services. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Kerrville.

Agnes and Jack were our neighbors and friends for years. We were pleased to meet Twila & family many times, too. While we will miss agnes now, she is in a better place..
