
James Willard Hopkins at the age of 76 passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at a Kerrville hospital. He was born on July 10, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to John Hopkins and Josie (Roach) Hopkins. James married Olive Cressell on Aug. 3, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Miamisburg, Ohio. James worked in factories and played his guitar all his life. He played in Chicago from 1954 ~ 1961. James played with Bud Isaac and Bud Emmons in Ohio & Mich. He retired to Kerrville in 1997 and became a Jurazzic Cowboy with E.C. Willman and they entertained the Hill Country. James music will be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother George Hopkins.
James is survived by his wife of 50 years Olive Hopkins of Kerrville; 4 sons Stephen Hopkins of Okeechobee, Florida, James Hopkins of Houston, George Hopkins of Houston, and Joseph Hopkins of Comfort; 2 daughters Terri Hopkins Murphy and husband Andy of Ingram and Tami Hopkins of Kerrville; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins in Ohio; aunt Marie McGuire of Okeechobee, Florida and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Visitation will be held 10 till 8, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at Wright's Funeral Parlor in Kerrville, Texas, the family will be here from 6~8 too greet guest.
Funeral services will be held 1:30, Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at Wright's Funeral Parlor with Frankie Enloe officiating the services. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Kerrville.
Pallbears will be James Mike Hopkins, Andy Murphy, James D. Hopkins, George Hopkins, Greg Hopkins, Joe Postlewaite, Jon Black and Beau Hopkins.
