David Monroe HookerDavid Monroe Hooker at the age of 54 passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born on October 15, 1953 in Belton, Texas to Ivan Hooker and Eula Mae "Drake" Hooker. David drove a truck for Bart Ferguson Trucking Company in Ingram. He is of the pentecostal faith and a member of the Believer Church in Kerrville. David married Lisa Lynn "Gumbert" in Mt. Home, Texas on Aug. 17, 1979. He has been in Kerr County since he was 2 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents. David is survived by his wife of 28 years Lisa Hooker of Ingram, Texas; son Eric Hooker and wife Brittany of Ingram; grandson Landon Hooker of Ingram; 3 sisters Stella F. Hooker of Boerne, Texas, Nelda Darlene Hooker of Gatesville, TX and Mamie Beatrice Hooker of Gatesville, TX; many nieces, nephews & cousins and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him. Visitation will be held 5 ~8, Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Family Worship Center (4471 Hwy. 27 E, Kerrville). Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, April 17, 2008 at the Family Worship Center with Pastor Robert Gumbert officiating the services. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has set up a funeral fund a the 1st Convenience Bank in Walmarts. Pallbears will be Cory Green, Joshua Green, Nathan Green, Erin Gumbert, Roger Hill, Steven Hughes, Clint Kimbrough and Heath Taylor. We will miss david so much. He was a great brotherinlaw and uncle to my children. He was always full of love and joy.and willing to help anyone. Who is going to help the women do the dishes now.

Sending you all love & hugs - the same that Uncle David always gave me. He wasn't my blood uncle, but I never saw him as anything less. He filled in for the uncle I never had & later gave me those "Big Man" bear hugs that I missed when I lost my Dad. Thanks for sharing him with me. We'll all see him again soon & until then he'll keep 'em rollin' on the floor of Heaven. I pray for your peace & comfort that only the Holy Spirit can provide. Lean on the Lord & know he's waiting for us all. Love ya Uncle David! Can't wait to see you again!

There are no words to express what Uncle David ment to me...He was always there whenever needed. He could always make me smile - I will miss his voice and his laugh, may he sing with the Angels now. My love, thoughts and prayers are with the family. My you feel the warmth of God's arms wrapped around you, carrying you through this time.

Lisa, our prayers are with you and your family doing this time of sorrow. We can't believe he is gone, he was a good friend, full of life, and always a joy to be around. We will miss him driving around Kerrville in his red dump truck, and seeing him parked at MiniMart every morning before heading to work, and there is alot of other memories of him that we will never forget, he will be in our hearts forever.
