1918 - 2008
 John George Thaler Jr at the age of 89 passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in a San Antonio hospital. He was born on September 24, 1918 in San Antonio, Texas to John G. Thaler Sr and Alma "Meyer" Thaler. John served in the U.S. Army form 1940 till 1942. He was a rancher most of his life. John married Christine McKnight on April 30, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of Sonlight Chapel in Center Point. John owned a ranch in Center Point but they moved to Harper, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents.
John is survived by his wife of 67 years Christine Thaler of Harper; son John Wayne Thaler and Laura McClure of Kerrville; daughter Judy McKnight; brother Randy Thaler and wife Mary of Pipe Creek; sister Erna Zwick of San Antonio, Terry Staley of University City, Mary Lou McGarrah of Las Vegas and Thelma Fielder of Alabama; 4 grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Visitation will be held 10 till 7 on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Wright's Funeral Parlor the family will greet guest from 5 till 7.
Funeral services will be 10am, Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Wright's Funeral Parlor with Pastor Wes Weston officiating the services following will be a Military burial at Center Point Cemetery in Center Point with full Military Honors. |
