1930 - 2008
Thad James Crider Sr at the age of 78 has gone to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2008 at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on January 5, 1930 in Aransas Pass, Texas to a very beloved couple James "Jim" Walter Crider and Mellie Mae "Wilson" Crider. Thad married Christine Henley on March 5, 1956. Thur these 52 years of marriage they had 8 children 4 boys and 4 girls. He went on to be a old time Preacher man. He loved his Lord and would share him with everybody he met. Thad was baptized by Rev. Stanford White who is now deceased at Louise Hay's park in the Guadalupe River, and then he was ordained into the ministry by the same pastor. He would open up old abandoned schools in Arkansas or a garage and converted it into a place of Worship. Thad has preached in churches, tents and even at the Court house square where ever the Lord opened a door. He would take folks day or night to the river, lake, pond to be baptized it did not make him any difference. Thad was a carpenter, roofer and a painter by trade. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Claude D. Crider and a sister Annie M. Hall.
Thad is survived by his wife of 52 years Christine Crider of Kerrville; children Roy M. Crider, Jody L Crider, Audrey G. Brock all of Kerrville, Janice D. Henley of San Angelo, Thad J. Crider Jr of Wideman, AK, Samson L. Crider of Brockwell, AK, Margaret A. O'Neil of Fredericksburg, and Allan R. Crider of Kerrville; 4 brothers Walter O. Crider of Kerrville, Jessie P. Crider of Oxford, AK, Morris C. Crider of Kerrville and Reuben M. Crider of Oxford, AK; 3 sisters Martha A. Morris of Kerrville, Mary E. Morris of Melbourne, AK and Hazel M. Sewell of San Saba; 24 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who loved him will miss him.
Visitation will be held 10 ~ 8 on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Wright's Funeral Parlor in Kerrville. Family will be here to greet guest from 6 ~ 8.
Graveside services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Sunset Cemetery in Mountain Home with Pastor Day officiating the services.
