1920 - 2008
Newby "Dale" Appel at the age of 87 passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at a Kerrville care center. He was born on Aug. 1, 1920 in LaFayette, Indiana to Newby Appel and Bernice "Guntle" Appel. Dale graduated from Purdue University and worked for Kroger as a chemist in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married Lois Cornett in 1947, and they were married for 61 years. After retiring, dale and Lois traveled to many Countries for the International Executives Service Corps. He was a member of the Kerrville First Baptist Church He is preceded in death by his parents.
Dale is survived by his wife of 61 years Lois Appel of Ingram: daughter Susan Rutherford and husband Mel of Cincinnati; son William Appel of Ingram; 2 grandchildren Dr. Lori Rutherford of Whittier, CA and Michael Rutherford and wife Jodie of Cincinnati; great granddaughter Abigail of Cincinnati; sister in-law Evelyn Batscha of Ingram and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Memorial services will be held in Cincinnati at a later date.
