
Albert A. Roussel at the age of 85 went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 21, 2008 at his home in Kerrville. He was born on Aug. 28, 1922 in Auburn, Illinois to Joseph Roussel and Sophie "Devlischoward" Roussel. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1944 as a medic. Albert married Maxine McClathchey in 1944 in Moline, Illinois. Albert then went on to work as a Manger in the Flooring department of Montgomery Wards store. They were very active in the Nazarene Church for 43 years and helped in the building of several churches. The family moved to San Antonio in 1951 and Albert retired in 1983 from Montgomery Wards. He moved to Kerrville 3 years ago. Albert was a member of the Church of Christ for 15 years before they moved to Kerrville. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Kenneth Roussel; brother Joseph Roussel Jr and sister Lillian Johnson.
Albert is survived by his wife of 63 years Maxine Roussel of Kerrville; 3 daughters Kathryn Torres and husband John of San Antonio, Karen Erben and husband Fred and Karna Hinton and husband Rich both of Arthur City, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Military graveside services will be held 10am, Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg with chaplain Carpenter officiating the services.
