Alvin Odell BaxterAlvin Odell Baxter at the age of 81 went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 03, 2008 at his home in Medina, Texas. He was born on May 22, 1927 in Barksdale, Texas to John & Lottie Mae Baxter. Alvin served in the U.S. Army from 1945 until 1946 he was a POW for 6 months in Japan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medina. Alvin has lived in Medina since 1960. He worked most of his life in the Oil field. Alvin married Tressie Neatherlin on May 19, 1949 in Leakey, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Tressie, brother JD, Roy & Elton sisters Lonabelle, & Claudia and 2 grandsons Alvin Joel Smith and John O'Dell Bingham. Alvin is survived by his 4 children Jessie Baxter and wife Diana of Medina, Jan Smith and husband Bill Briney of Medina, Linda Bingham of Medina and Diana Maner and husband Ricky of Camp Wood; brother Jimmy Baxter; sister Darlen Bullard; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him. Military honor Graveside services will be held 10am, Friday, December 05, 2008 at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas with Pastor Allie Balko officiating the services.

With the passing of Alvin starts a new begining in his life throuhg Jesus Christ; he will be missed.
