
Marietta McDonald at the age of 65 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 2, 2009 in Comfort, Texas. She was born on February 25, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Pastor K.E. and Henrietta Blackburn. Mariette's husband was a minister, and McDonald was known for her ability to play a piano - actually learning to play by ear in her childhood and to read music later in life. She played the piano at many different churches in the Hill Country. Marietta was a member of Four Square Gospel Fellowship where she was the keyboard player for their worship services. She was a resident of Kerrville since 1983 moving here from Kountze, Texas. Marietta was known for her talent of playing the piano beautifully by ear. She loved to read and cross stitch. Marietta was every artistic and loved to paint, especially ceramics, arrange flowers. She loved to go and watch her grandchildren play sports. Marietta was a considerate, honest, hard working lady who's smile and comforting eyes will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Marietta is survived by her son Kenneth McDonald and wife Teresa of Harper, Texas; daughter Jodi Carey and husband Rene of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren Joshua McDonald and wife Molly, Caleb McDonald, Chris Carey and Garrett Carey; great grandson Matthias McDonald; brother Daniel Blackburn and wife Judy; sister Vivian Lamb; numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends who love her will miss her.
Memorial services will be held 1pm, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at Four Square Gospel Fellowship at 915 Bluebell Rd. Kerrville, TX.
