Florentino H. Rodriguez at the age of 84 passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at a local care center in Kerrville Texas. He was born on Dec. 23, 1924 in Rockdale, Texas to Amado and Laura "Hernandez" Rodriguez. Florentino served in the U.S. Army from 1943 until 1949 during WWII. He worked his life as a handyman doing just about everything, his children never needed to call for a repairman because he always could fix it for them. Florentino loved his family more then anything, he helped to raise a niece and a granddaughter as his on children. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores, 2 brothers, 2 sister, 3 sons and 1 great grandchild.
Florentino is survived by his 2 sons Florentino Rodriguez and wife Sylvia of Austin and Amado Rodriguez of Kerrville; daughter Rosemary Ybarra of GA; brother Marvin Rodriguez of Copperas Cove; 23 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
Visitation will be held 10am until 7pm, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Wright's Funeral Parlor in Kerrville. Rosary will be held 7pm, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
Military Graveside services will be held 2:30pm, Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Ft. Sam National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
