Bobby Joe BurrerBobby Joe Burrer at the age of 80 passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Kerrville Texas VA hospital. He was born on May 25, 1929 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Milton Burrer and Rosie "Phillips" Burrer. Bobby attended Tivy High School until he join the U.S. Army in 1949 until 1950. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1950 until 1955 during the Korean War. Bobby served in the First Tank Battalion in the Marines which was stationed in Panmunjom area where they guard the prisoners of war. He married Margaret Hughes on June 29, 1957 in Kerrville, Texas. Bobby was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post 1480 in Kerrville. Bobby and Margaret have lived in Kerrville for 52 years. He loved to fish, watch all kinds of sports, old movies and he loved his family and he will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents. Bobby is survived by his wife of 51 years Margaret Burrer of Kerrville; 2 sons Bobby C. Burrer and wife Kriss of Reno, NV and William L. Burrer of Kerrville, TX; 2 daughter Diana Burrer and Radonna Chambless both of Kerrville, Tx; brother Delbert Burrer and wife Thelrue of Ingram, Tx; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him. Visitation will be held 10am until 8 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Wright's Funeral Parlor in Kerrville with the family greeting guest from 6pm until 8pm. Military Graveside services will be held 2:15pm, Tuesday , June 23, 2009 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas with military honors.
