I learned just the other day of Fred's passing. Like Fred, I also graduated from the Alcohol and Drug Counselor Training Program in Ft. Lyon, CO. I had the pleasure of working with Fred at Star-lite Village Hospital,(as it was known then). Fred was a compassionate and kind man who had a keen sense and understanding of the special needs of patients who presented with drug/alcohol maladies. He helped them to face their problems "head-on" and encouraged them to begin to embrace a new way of life. Thanks to Fred, hundreds of lives were saved, hundreds of family systems remained in tact, and hundreds of people were able to return to proud and productive
lives. Fred was truly one of the good guys and will be missed by all who knew him.
