1918 - 2009
Marne N. Bass at the age of 90 passed away on Monday, November 16, 2009 at a Kerrville Texas care center. He was born on December 27, 1918 in San Francisco, California to Donald and Elizabeth Bass. Marne served in the U.S. Army from 1940 until 1945 during WWII he was very proud to serve his country, and he was rewarded the Bronze Star. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 43 years and then he retired. Marne married Betty Leniger in 1951 at Reno Nevada. He had 2 years of Jr. college and 2 years of Law school. Marne was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church of Kerrville. He moved to Kerrville in 1991 from Mexico. Marne loved to read, tell stories and was a big history buff. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Don and Norman Bass, and 2 beloved pets Chulie and Pepito.
Marne is survived by his wife of 58 years Betty Bass of Kerrville, TX; son Marne Bass Jr of California; daughter Elizabeth Ann Liddle of California; grandson Greg Liddle of California and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
