Robert L. Tate at the age of 88 passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at a Kerrville Texas care center. He was born on July 25, 1921 in Sandwich, Illinois to Herbert and Margaret Tate. Robert served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1940 until 1945 after graduation and serving during WWII. He served in the North Africa theater and after his 50th mission returned home. Robert graduated from University of Illinois with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1950. He worked for General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana for 25 years and retiring and moving to Kerrville in 1983. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Scott.
Robert is survived by his wife Carolyn Tate of Kerrville, Texas.
Burial will be at Ft. Sam National Cemetery in San Antonio Texas at a later date.
