1924 - 2009

Robert Carlton Wilson at the age of 85 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Kerrville, Texas VA hospital. He was born on Aug. 06, 1924 in San Diego, CA to Henry and Genevieve (Riggle) Wilson. Robert served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WWII from 1943 until 1945 as a Navigator. He married Mary Elizabeth Fielder on October 1950. Robert worked in the Savings & Loan industry for 26 years advancing from Loan Officer to President in San Antonio. He retired, and Robert and Mary enjoyed traveling throughout the country in their RV for 6 years before settling in Ingram. He was a life long Baptist and a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Kerrville and he loved to singing in the choir. Robert loved to play his trumpet and he was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Maurice G. Wilson and granddaughter Layne Elizabeth Wilson. Robert is survived by his wife Mary Beth Wilson of Ingram, Tx; daughters Cindy Wilson, and Barbara Dorman and husband Cary; son Maurice Wilson and wife Shannon; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter; life long friend Leo Tuck and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him. Memorial services will be held 11am, Monday, January 4, 2010 at Trinity Baptist Church (800 Jackson Rd) in Kerrville with Dr. John Petty officiating the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Children's Research Hospital, (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105).
