Arthur Lee Gamble, from Kerrville, Tx, departed our world at the age of 89, to join his son Andrew in Heaven on June 4, 2010. He was born on November 23, 1920 in Paragould, Arkansas to Murphy and Norma (Urquhart) Gamble. He is survived by his loving wife Jane Gamble, daughter Carol Hayden, 4 stepchildren, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Arthur was a decorated veteran from his honorable service to our country as a United States Bombardier in World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the United Association of Pipe Fitters, Local 211 since 1947. He continued his service to our country as a Freemason beginning in May of 1957 when he was initiated into the Walker M. Pierson Lodge, #1339 in Houston, Tx. He passed in July and rose to Master Mason on September 23, 1957. He affiliated with the S. P. Waltrip Lodge, #1329 in 1966 and the Kerrville Lodge, #697 in May 1990. The Kerrville Lodge was honored to award Arthur with his 50th year certificate the Masonic Order in 2008.
Arthur was well known in Houston as he supervised building of many of the high-rise structures and the Astrodome. His knowledge and his kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
