It's take us this long to even think about trying to put on paper what Erma meant for us as a friend here in Take It Easy. One of my favorite things was when she giggled and her nose wrinkled up like a bunny You always knew where you stood with Erma and we had some great conversations.
We know she is in a better place and with Jack and feeling great again. She was sick and tired of being Sick and tired, and although she tried to stay positive it was becoming difficult.
Among the things we treasure is our friend ship with Linda, John & Chuck, and getting to meet Gay she and Chuck are perfect for each other.
HOpe to see y'all before you head out to other places, we will miss all of you.
Thank God we will still have Kay & Fran!!!

We only knew Erma for a short while and yet it seemed we had known her forever. Her friendly disposition and warm, welcoming smile always put one at ease in her company. We'll always remember

I absolutely loved visiting my Aunt Erma and Uncle Jack. They were always full of joy and laughter. I'm truly going to miss them both! My thoughts and prayers are with their families and hope this hard time passes them quickly. I was always told to remember the good times after someone passes, and that is exactly what I'm going to do!

I know this space is for condolences for the family& But, I've heard the internet goes around the world and hopefully up to heaven also. So, I have a few thoughts I would like to share with Erma (Mom) that I never got to say& although I believe she knew in her heart.
Awhile back I 'thanked you' for having Chuck and raising him to the man he's become & so that I could meet him, become his best friend, lover and life partner. After all, if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have him. I regret that you will not able to be here when we exchange our vows but I believe you knew we already have with our hearts. I wanted to tell you not to worry about him. You've taken care of him for long enough& it's now my turn and I will do my very best to make him happy until you two meet again.
I know you were anxious to meet back up with Jack and from what I've heard about him, it's understandable. I can tell he was a wonderful man. I only wish I had the opportunity to meet him. Oh heck, give him a kiss for me anyway and tell him it's from his to-be daughter-in-law!
I had already grown to love you and only wish we had more time together. But, I'll take what I was given and be grateful . We I'll miss you dearly and you'll forever be in our hearts.
Got those wings yet? Steady going until you get them figured out . Soar as high as you like, nothing can ever bring you down now. Have a happy eternity.
Love, Gay

Aunt Erma and my mom were friends since grade school in Denver. Thankfully she introduced her brother to my mom or I wouldn't be here today. I am honored that she passed off to me her genealogical history of the Reary family. I will guard it and continue to keep it alive for her. Her parents had a strong faith and in a time of sorrow I truly believe that today they are all rejoicing in Heaven that their family is all back together again.

Thank you to all of mom's friends and to our wonderful family for being with Chuck,John,Jackie and I during this time. Your love and support is so appreciated. I agree with my brother below, she was the best mom and an awesome grandmother. As much as our hearts are missing her, we are at peace knowing she is not in pain and is home in heaven with God and with our father Jack. They raised us to love and to laugh and we now have the honor to carry on and continue to make them proud. Again thank you all and with much love. Linda

My father, Eugene Reary was Erma's brother. When he returned home from the Korean War she introduced my father to my mother, Judy. As the years went by and Aunt Erma's sisters and brothers all passed away she became our families main connection. She provided all of us endless comfort and support through good times and bad. Her absence will be deeply missed by all of us forever!

Erma was always thinking of others. The year (1997) we had the accident & were late getting to Texas, Erma made sure we still had our spot. She also bought a huge potted Mum and set it on our Lot'.
That was Erma

My Aunt Erma had an unforgettable, contagious laugh that would make anyone feel wonderful even if they were having a bad day. Growing up I couldn't wait to visit my aunt and uncle in Denver. They always had activities planned for our visits and stories to share. After my mom (June Reary Merritt) passed away 18 years ago, Aunt Erma always kept in touch to see how everyone was getting along. We will miss her, but now she is out of pain and with many loved ones.

We were sadden to hear of Erma's passing. Her husband, Jack Morison, was my first cousin and I always enjoyed visiting with both of them, either in Kerrville or in Colorado. Erma inspired me to just complete my "Personal History" when I read her history written when she was 70 years old. I learned much about her by reading this history and was amazed at the contributions and adventuresome life she had. I send my heartfelt sympathy to all of her family. Fondly, Dianne Tippets of Riverton, Wyoming

Life without Erma in Texas will be not nearly as special. We have lost a wonderful friend and a exceptional person who knew of how to be a "good neighbor" She was a inspiration to so many people at Take-it Easy. She never had a unkind word to say about others and was willing to help strangers whenever she had the opportunity. She was more "Christian" than many christians I know. I had a wonderful talk with her a couple to days before she died. She told me she was tired of life as it was and just wanted to see Jack in Heaven. She said she needed a "attitude adjustment" and was trying to do so but life was just so difficult being so sick. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family as you morn her passing. Jim and I would like to come to visit her grave when we travel to Texas this year.

Erma was the ultimate example of how to be a good neighbor. She found the good in each person and was able to make each person who spend time with her feel loved and important. She shared with strangers and helped with many projects and social activities at Take-it-Easy Rand the YES center at First Presbyterian Church. She was a wonderful friend and will be missed so much.

Aunt Erma always said "When you wake up in the morning, you never know what the day will bring." I think of her often when I have an unexpected surprise in my day! She was a wonderful aunt and I will miss her and her positive outlook on life very much! I love you Aunt Erma!
