Dorothy E AllenDorothy E. Allen at the age of 84 went to be with her Holy Father on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at a care center in Bandera, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1926 in Brush, Colorado to Charles and Nellie "O'Grady" Wittwer. Dorothy was raised in Brush among a large extended family and many lifelong friends. She married Kenneth Allen on September 30, 1945. Dorothy spent a life as a homemaker, wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. She and Kenneth were married for 48 years and parted by Kenneth's death in 1993. Together they raised a family, taught love of God, family and friends; the value of hard work and doing your best; faithfulness to one's promises; love of and service to America; appreciation for the beauty of this Country. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Dorothy is survived by her 4 children Margaret Allen Carter, Charles Allen and wife Dee, Timothy Allen and wife Sherri and Christopher Allen and wife Mary; 7 grandchildren Kenneth Carter and wife Connie,Jerrard Carter and wife Kara, Wendy Allen Branch and husband Marland,Jason Allen and wife Carly, Ryanne Allen Hoffman and husband Brian,E-2 Sailor Grady Allen, and E-1 Sailor Lawson Allen; 12 great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ashley, Josline, Joel, Joanna and Josephine Carter, Bryce, Austin and McKenzie Branch, Jackson, Evelyn and Hazel Allen; niece Kathleen Allan Hanak and Don Hanak and children Michael, Andrea and Dan Hanak many other family members and friends who love her will miss her. Memorial services will be held 10am, October 24, 2011 at St.Josephs Catholic Parish in Denver Colorado with burial following at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the heart of your house your children like olive plants all around your table. Psalm 128:3 (In biblical terms the olive tree and branches signify the goodness of love and charity).
