I just learned of Armonds passing away today. I grew up knowing Armond and always considered him a very good friend. I enjoyed the times my family visited his in Texas and our many trips to the races with him and his family. My condolences go out to Melissa and the kids.

I didn't know that Armond had passed away until today, February 10, 2012. I knew Armond most of his life as I grew up just down the road from him in Ionia, NY. Armond, you were supposed to out live me. We were friends for over 53 years and over time I have met your children. My condolences to all the family of "Yankee" Payne. Take care my old friend and I'm sure we will meet again.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I don't know if you will remember me but Yankie raced with my ex-husband Carl "Ziggy" Reusser at South Texas Speedway (Saratoga Speedway) in Corpus Christi and you made my son a stick horse and brought it out to the races and gave it to him. My son turned 15 in Aug and to this day I still have that stick horse. I have never forgotten either one of you and will hold on to the horse as long as I can.
