
Sidney Prentice Skinner of Bandera, at the age of 87 went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2012. He was born on August 6, 1924, and was raised on the Iron Mountain Ranch in West Texas. Sid married Bonnie D'Spain in 1946. Sid was an avid racing pigeon flyer since childhood. They would have been married 67 years in April. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Bull. Sid owned and operated various businesses in Bandera, The Chicken Shack, Pack Saddle Grocery, Deanie's Bar-B-Que, and Sid's self storage in Bandera. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Adele Terry, brothers Walter, John and Bill Skinner, granddaughter Teresa Skinner and great grandson James Robinson Jr.
Sid is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Skinner of Bandera; sons Sidney P. Skinner wife Kathy and Robert Skinner wife Tudi both of Bandera, Texas; daughters Deanie Smith of Andrews, Texas and Bonnie Crow husband Walter of Katy, Texas; sister-in-law Doris Skinner of Pipe Creek and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will be holding a memorial service to celebrate Sidney's life on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11am at the Skinner House.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Sid's name to Peterson Hospice (1121 Broadway, Kerrville, TX. 78028).
