Dr. James Donnavin Thomas, D.C.
1934-2012
James Donnavin Thomas, 77, passed away June 7, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in Reno, Marietta Township, Washington County, Ohio on August 8, 1934, to Howard and Della Thomas, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 53 years- his lifelong love, Winifred Moffett Thomas; two adoring daughters, Selena Staffa, and Summer Yarbrough and husband Brent; two grandchildren, Jordan Staffa and Brooke Staffa; and five siblings, Virgil Thomas, Denzil Thomas, Luella Kibbey, Lenora Lohman, and Kenneth Thomas.
After working in construction most of his life, James saved a man's life by pushing him out of the way of a falling beam. That same beam crushed his right knee. With his construction days over, he turned to education. James received his GED at the age of 42 and went on to graduate as a brilliantly talented chiropractor from Parker University College of Chiropractic at the age of 53. Through all of his endeavors, his faith in God was the beacon that guided him. He dedicated his life to serving God and will be remembered for his steadfast love and quiet strength. His dedication to his loved ones and his enduring commitment to those he loved will forever remain with his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 11am, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas.
