Joe Richard Davis Sr. Joe Richard Davis Sr., 69, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, in San Antonio.

He was born July 24, 1943, in Gurnee, Ill., to Hermie (Hall) and Richard Davis.

Joe worked for many years for the Intermatic Inc. in Spring Groove, Ill., as a materials handler. He married Barbara Ditzler on May 1, 1971, in Wisconsin and was the father of four loving children. Barbara and Joe moved to the Hill Country more than six years ago from Twin Lakes, Wis. He was member of the City West Church in Ingram. Joe loved watching old western movies, reading and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lynn Davis.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Barbara A. Davis of Ingram; children, John R. Davis of Wisconsin, Jerry W. Davis and wife, Jennifer of Colorado, Joe R. Davis Jr. of Wisconsin and Diana L. Davis of Wisconsin; siblings, William D. Davis and wife, Katherine, Dana Davis Piacenza and husband, Carl, all of Illinois; and six grandchildren. Joe will be loved and dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct 14, at Wrights Funeral Parlor, with the Rev. Lamar Carnes officiating.
