Bertha M. Townsend of Junction,86, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at a San Angelo hospital. She was born on October 14, 1926 in Burnet Texas to Joe and Armainya Collier. Bertha married Ray Townsend on July 5, 1947 in Marble Falls, Texas. Bertha was a member of the Junction Truth Temple serving as a deacon and the assistant pastor before retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and church family. Bertha lived in Ingram, Texas for over 30 years before moving to Junction, Texas and spending the remaining 40years of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband,Ray Townsend; son, Johnny Townsen; brother Joe Collier Jr; sisters, Lucille Jung and Laruen Collier.
Bertha is survived by her loving daughter, Joyce Sherman of Junction; daughter in-law, Linda Townsend of Junction; brothers, Steve Collier of San Antonio and Calvin Collier of California; sister, Estelle Dean of Ingram; 8 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends who love her will miss her.
Graveside services will be held at 10am, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Nicholas Cemetery with Pastor Randy Dean officiating.
