I never knew Jordan, but I found a neat ceramic tile in a thrift store in Southaven, MS. It is titled "Buckskin Robe" and signed Thrall '87. I love my little piece of art (my Tiponi). When I go to Third Mesa in AZ to meet the Hopi, I will take my treasure along with me.

I new Jordan Thrall at the University of Denver. Jordan had the room next to mine in the freshman dorm. Jordan had come to Denver from Tehran, Iran where he had been at the American school. I remember his stories about the streets of Tehran. I owe my love rock music to Jordan Thrall. The year was 1969 and Jordan had a roomful of vinyl albums we would play in lieu of our studies. Jordan listened to what was on the cutting-edge of music and what became considered the Golden Age of rock music, still played on the radio today.... Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Leon Russell, Jethro Tull, The Who, Santana, Yes, Traffic, Led Zeppelin and countless others.
Jordan asked if I would room with him sophomore year, and we rented an apartment in downtown Denver, but halfway through the year Jordan told me his parents wanted him to go to college in Kansas City.
Some 40 years later I had a premonition having lost touch with him, and so I tried to find Jordan. I did a search and tracked him to a company in the tile business in Texas. I called numerous times, but there was never any answer. One day about two years ago a girl answered the phone, and I explained I was trying to find the Jordan Thrall that went to the University of Denver. She told me the Jordan Thrall she knew, did not attend the University of Denver, and so I abandoned my search. I was never able to re-connect with him, but now I've read this obituary and I'm happy to know the music never left him. He died as I knew him ....listening to his music.

Dodie and Rosanne, there are no words sufficient to express my deepest sympathies. I know there will be a void in your lives only to be filled by the wonderful memories you both have of the wonderful man that Jordan was! Sending love and prayers to you both.

Dear Rosanne, Dodie and Family,
Jordan will be so missed, but so well-remembered by Douglas and I. We feel your loss deeply. Rosanne, I have been praying for strength for you, though I have only known y'all for a short time, I saw a specialness in your lovely husband Jordan and feel you are a gem of a person as well. His life was too short, but I feel blessed to cross paths with you and him. Love and strength.
