Scott Bruce Monson, 59, passed away at Peterson Regional Medical Center surrounded by family and friends on Sept. 21, 2013. Services will be at 2pm, Tuesday, Sept 24, 2013, First Baptist Church, Center Point.
Scott Bruce Monson was born on June 7, 1954 at Mercy Family Hospital in Estherville, IA to Bruce and Jeanette Monson of Armstrong, IA. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1972. Shortly after joining the Navy, he was stationed in San Diego and then the South Pacific. After being discharged, Scott moved to Kerrville and worked at the VA for over 30 years before retirement. At the time of his passing, Scott worked as the greens keeper for Comanche Trace.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 24 years, Karen F. Monson.
He is survived by his brothers, Craig Monson of Shingle Springs, CA, Steve Monson and wife Connie of Tucson, AZ; three children, Jeremy Monson, Stephanie Monson and Kristi Wallace, all of Kerrville; grandchildren, Kyali Vaughn and Alana Ukpong; sister in law, Catherine Hubbard of Center Point; several nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by many other family members and dear friends.
Memorial services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Center Point.
