Ronald Sonny Simetz, 79, left this life on Friday, October 25, 2013 at a Kerrville care center. He was born on Aug. 13, 1934 in Orville, Ohio to Velma (Masters) and Cletus Simetz. Sonny lived in Alaska for several years and loved to hunt and fish. He had a love for the outdoors and invested many hours into homing pigeons and other birds. Sonny owned a painting and drywall business under the name Allen Lowe.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cletus Simetz.
Sonny is survived by his loving mother, Velma Jones of OH; 2 sons, Ed Simetz of OH and Rick Simetz of TX; 7 daughters, Linda Miller of OH, Lelia Reed and husband Ira of OH, Debbie Remenaric and husband Larry of OH, Laura Jovanovic of OH, Christina Bagnoli and husband Jim of OH, Karen Chandler and husband Jerome of Kerrville, and Velma Crochet and husband Myron of LA; brother, Keith Simetz of OH; 2 sisters, Betty Tsilidas Callahan and husband James of CA and Joan Gibbons of OH; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; furry companions, Fireball and Tippy. He will be remembered by his friends of the G St. Bar and along with many other family members and friends, all whom will miss him greatly.
Graveside services will be held 1pm, Monday, October 28, 2013 at Mt. View Cemetery in Kerrville.
