Dorothy M. Martin age 89, of Kerrville passed away to the Lords hand on Nov. 30, 2013 in her residence. She was born March 21, 1924 to Joe Ferdaszewski-Fordack and Lelia Ferdaszewski -Fordack, in Minnesota. On July 21, 1948 she married Virdan E. Martin, Jr. in Hunington Park, California. In 1993, the Martins decided to spend the rest of their retirement years in Kerrville, TX to enjoy the hill country life.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, brother and sister. She was a loving & devoted wife for 66 years; Dorothy served the Navy in WWII and was honorable discharged July 1946 from the U.S. Navy in Jacksonville, FL. She was devoted to her husband as a homemaker along with her expertise and love for quilting, doll making, and needlework.
She is survived by Anita Pickard, niece and husband Michael, in Kerrville TX; Charlotte Trudeau, niece and husband Michael, in Corpus Christi, TX; Robert Martin, nephew and wife Gracie in Corpus Christi, TX; Richard Martin, nephew in Corpus Christi, TX; and Sharon Hardee, niece in Thousand Oaks, CA and many great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Martin Residence, 204 Crestwood, Kerrville, TX. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Wright Funeral Parlor, www.wrightfuneralparlor.net or to your favorite charity.
