Virgil Calvin Parker died at his home on Dec. 16, 2013. He was born to Dolph and Davila Parker on Oct. 3, 1923, in Lovelady, Texas. He joined the Merchant Marines after graduating from high school and was honorably discharged after World War II. He married his loving wife, Lorraine Estelle Holloway, on Dec. 27, 1950. He was employed at West Side State Bank in San Antonio for many years, serving as Executive Vice President. He retired to Kerrville, Texas, in 1994 and lived there until his death. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Virgil is survived by his son, Dan Logan Parker, of San Antonio, Texas: niece Diane James of Kerrville and many other family members and friends who love him will miss him.
