Arda Corbett was my first grade teacher in San Carlos, CA in 1964. I am now 50 years old, have worked in early education my entire life, and have attributed both my motivation and my success in this field almost entirely to Mrs. Corbett's influence. I still think of her nearly every day in my work and in my memory. She was a wonderful, gifted, loving teacher who made each of her students feel special and genuinely valued. For me, as a young child with tremendous insecurity, she believed in me in a way that I have rarely experienced in life and that I cherish to this day. I am Jewish, and in Judaism, we say "May her memory be for a blessing", so I wanted to pass that on. Thank you.
