ERNEST BEVIL HUNT
Funeral services for Ernest Bevil Hunt, 80, of Silsbee will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment to follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson.
Mr. Hunt died May 23, 2004 at his residence in Silsbee with his loving wife of
61 ½ years Julia at his side.
He loved being a great father and husband. loving his special son “Bubba in a very special way, he always saw to his every need.
He loved to be with friends and enjoyed fishing, shrimping and hunting. He also loved his wood shop and spent a lot of his time building and remodeling his different homes.
Born in Daisetta and attending school there Ernest lived in Batson/Daisetta and Beaumont for over 25 years, moving to Warren for 16 years and the last 10 years he lived in Silsbee.
He was in the U. S. Coast Guard from 1943 thru 1946. Ernest was employed at Texas Gulf Sulphur for 29 years in the maintenance department. He then worked in the mechanic shop at Lamar for 10 more years. Mr. Hunt was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Silsbee.
Preceded in death by his Parents Hollis Bud and Rosie Hunt; brothers Allen, Bill, Jack, Boyd and Hollis Hunt and sister Joyce Doris He is survived by wife Julia Hunt of Silsbee; sons Edward Hunt of Warren, Kenneth “Bubba” Hunt of Silsbee and Ernest E. Hunt of Beaumont; sisters Agnes Silhavy of Nome, Corine Kliem of Batson and Lilly Littlefield of Beaumont.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Hunt, Earl Kirchoff, Gale Maxson, Bill Black, A. W. Holder, O. B. Youngblood, Terry Hawthorne, Oscar Goins and honorary pallbearer Bill Harper .
