Dear Gayla, I'm so very sorry about the loss of your beloved brother, Leslie ("Judge" to me). I would have been there had I known. The last time he and I talked and hugged was at Joe Bellenger's funeral. I will always remember our childhood and think of him everytime I drive down his road going to mother's. He touch so many lives in ways others would never know about. Sincerely, Lynda Vern

Leslie "Judge" Ashworth captured all of us with his sweet smile, encouraging words, and quick wit. As schoolmates, Leslie was always the first to greet each of us--and almost always he said something that was sure to make us laugh. He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy to the Ashworth family. A memory for you: when I was a little girl, my mother, Lois Blackmon Durham, would tell me, when we would see Leslie in town, "That is who our Leslie (my brother) is named after." Just last year, I asked Mother why she named our brother after Leslie Ashworth. She told me that Bro. Ashworth, Leslie's daddy, was her pastor years ago. When Leslie was born, all the young girls wanted to hold him and play with him. She remembered him all her life as the toddler that she loved.
We are praying for you all.
God Bless you.

Gayla, Steve, and Dawn,
My heart is filled with sadness, I also feel your loss, Leslie and I have worked, laughed, prayed together for many years. He was more than a co-worker to me, he was my friend. Leslie had a big and giving heart. He loved his immediate family and church family. I'm truly going to miss him.
Prayerfully yours,
Ora Magee
