James E. (Jim) JOHNSON
January 28, 1929 – July 14, 2004
“Come home, Come home, it’s supper time!” called the Lord, and Jim went to sup on July 14, 2004, at his residence in Lumberton, Texas..
Jim was born in Romayor, Texas to Sadie Johnson and the late Mack Johnson on January 28, 1929. He lived most of his life in Kountze, Texas. He moved to Lumberton, Texas June 1970 until his death.
Jim Loved God, his family, and friends and was a Christian. He was also a Korean War Veteran.
Jim was a truck driver at heart, but was a jack-of-all trades. Some people said that if Jim Johnson couldn’t do it, it couldn’t be done.
Jim is survived by Mary his wife of 47 years, his children and their spouses Jodene and Paul McGraw, Denise and Jeff Domec, Mike and Stacy Johnson, Glen Johnson, James and Rhonda Johnson, all of Lumberton. His grandchildren, Leslie Theriot, Cathy Ryan, Bubba Domec. Chris Alsup, Heather McGraw, Tiffany and Tori Johnson, Jason and Caylob Johnson all of Lumberton. Great grandchildren Gerald Domec, Kaelin Ryan, Breanna and Trinity Theriot all of Lumberton. Special friends Amy Dobbs and Adwina Burrows of Lumberton.
Jim is also survived by his mother, Sadie Johnson of Athens, his brother and wife Bob and Frances Johnson of Lumberton, his brother Gilbert Johnson, brother Bill Johnson and sisters Maxine Hale and Veda Anne Talbert and husband J. B. Talbert all of Athens, Texas. His mother-in-law Della D. Smith of Lumberton, his sisters-in-law and their husbands, Earleen and Jim Blacksher of Lumberton, Patsy and Eddie Chadwick of Saratoga, brother-in-law and wife James Earl Smith, Jr. and Lella of Herndon Virginia. Jim is also survived by his Foster sisters and brother Ada Laredo of Kountze, Goldie Brian and husband James of Winchester, Idaho, Charles Edward Curtis and wife Wanda of Tucson, AZ. Funeral services will be handled by Farmer’s Funeral home in Silsbee, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 p.m. Friday July 16, 2004. Funeral services will be held at first Baptist Church of Lumberton with Brother Russell Fite officiating on Saturday July 17, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
