EMMA JO SMITH
Emma Jo Smith, 72, of Silsbee, passed away at 5 p.m. on August 18, 2004 at DuBuis Hospital in Beaumont.
She was born August 29, 1931 to Emma Mae and Joel R. Smith in Vinton, Louisiana.
She graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1950. She attended Lamar University and Angelina College. She was a licensed Health Care Administrator, holding title of Fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators and also The Texas Health Care
Administrators Association. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star Groves Chapter #953. She retired after thirty-one years in her profession and enjoyed her retirement years traveling.
Emma Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Mae and Joel Smith and nephews Russell Rodgers and Vince Laudano.
She is survived by her loving family; Lillian Rodgers of Silsbee, TX, Mary Ellen and Frank Laudano of Luling, LA., James and Sharon Smith of Bridge City, Richard and Jean Smith of Mauriceville, TX; nieces, Jo Anna, Kristi, Dianna, Sheri and Lauri; nephews, Richard, James Riley, James Robert, Chris and Scott Riley; twelve great nieces and nephews and many many devoted friends.
Visitation will be at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. with a Christian Vigil at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 21, 2004 at Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton, Texas with Reverend Paul Sumler and Reverend Michael Baluyot officiating. Pallbearers will be Donald Boyd, Glen Cook, Jim Venable, Jim Maxey, Ray Feemster, Richard, Regester, Keith Dautrive and Ronald Rhodes.
