Vernon Leo Le Blanc of Beaumont, TX passed away Friday, August 20, 2004 at his home.
He was born October 1, 1942 to Margaret and the late Henry Le Blanc of Lake Charles, LA. Vernon served his country in the US Marine Corp. While serving his country, Vernon met and married Rose Perez Le Blanc, a fellow Marine. They were married for over 40 years.
Vernon and Rose lived in Lake Charles, LA for a time then they moved to Beaumont, TX. He worked for the Beaumont Fire Department for 9 ½ years, 5 ½ of those years as Captain. While he was working as a fireman, Vernon began his own construction business, Le Blanc Contracting. The business has been in existence for over 33 years and is now managed by his sons.
Rose and Vernon moved to Silsbee, TX to raise their 5 children. During his residency in Silsbee, Vernon was an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church where he served as a lector and taught CCD. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and held the position of Grand Knight. For the last 6 years, Rose and Vernon have lived in Beaumont, TX. Vernon was an active member of St. Jude’s Catholic church, where he served as a lector as well.
Vernon was a loving, caring husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend. He has touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Edward Le Blanc of Lake Charles, LA. He is survived by his wife Rose Perez Le Blanc of Beaumont, TX; sons, Luis Edward Le Blanc of Beaumont, TX; Michael Leo Le Blanc and his wife, Marlee Elmore Le Blanc of Silsbee, TX; David Lee Le Blanc of Silsbee, TX; and Derrick James Le Blanc of Beaumont, TX; daughter, Deborah Lynn Le Blanc of Beaumont, TX; mother, Margaret B. Le Blanc of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Herny Edward Le Blanc, Jr. of DeRidder, LA; and sisters, Marie Rogers of Lake Charles, LA and Cora Mae Mott of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Sydnee Le Blanc, Colby Le Blanc and Baylee Le Blanc of Silsbee, TX; and Erika Sheard and Kimberly Sheard of Beaumont, TX; and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends at Farmers Funeral Home in Silsbee, TX at 5:00pm on Sunday, August 22, 2004. Funeral services will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church on Gladys in Beaumont, TX on Monday, August 23, 2004 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Vernon Le Blanc Memorial Fund at Hibernia B
