THELMA WHITTON TARVER
Our Mother, Thelma Whitton Tarver 79, of Lumberton, departed this earth accompanied by angels Friday morning Sept. 10th, 2004 from Pine Arbor Health Care Center after an 8 year battle with cancer.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2004 at Farmers Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas with interment at 2:00 p.m. at Broaddus Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Farmers Funeral Home.
Thelma was a native of San Augustine County, Texas. Originally married to Henry Tarver for 30 years, she raised her family in Sour Lake, Texas.
Thelma is survived by 3 sons and 4 daughters, Charles Tarver and wife Debra from Woodville, Calvin Tarver and wife Bobbie from Florien, LA, J. W. Tarver from Jasper, TX, and Marjorie Vaughan and husband Wesley from Beaumont, TX, Bonnie Morris and husband Bob from Warren, TX, Delois Sims and husband Wayne from Silsbee, TX and Brenda Graham and husband John from Natchitoches, LA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.. She is also survived by her brothers Prentice Lane, Robert Lane and Roy Lane. Thelma was preceded in death by her mother Lucy Florence Wagstaff Lane, her father Jesse Pauze Whitton, her brothers Merle Lane, Leo Whitton and Buford Whitton.
Thelma was a member of The Kountze Church of Christ.
