KENNETH RAYMOND “RED” KEOWN, SR.

Funeral services for Kenneth Raymond “Red” Keown, Sr.74, of Silsbee will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment at Knupple Cemetery also in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Keown died October 11, 2004 at Lumberton Rehabilitation Center where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Hardin, Texas and longtime resident of Silsbee. He was a 1947 graduate of Silsbee High School and was a star player in football, basketball and baseball. He went to Stephen F. Austin College on a football scholarship. Kenneth was co-owner of R & L Well service and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include sons, Corky Keown and wife, Sandy of Galveston and Kenneth Raymond Keown, Jr. of Silsbee; daughters, Connie Sue Keown of Beeville, Donna Read and husband Jerry of Beaumont and Clare Cammack and husband Dean of Sour Lake; brother, Curtis Keown and wife Theo of Silsbee; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
