FLOYD E. MURPHY

Floyd Murphy, 66, died peacefully at home on October 16th. He had bravely struggled with cancer for the past year. Following a service at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Mr. Murphy was laid to rest in Old Hardin Cemetery. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Ginny; his children Michael and Linda Murphy of Kountze, David and Christy Murphy of Georgetown; and his grandchildren Tyler, Megan, Justin and Jacob. He is survived by his mother, Iola Murphy of Lumberton; his sister Barbara Murphy of Kountze; nieces Barbra Hart of Beaumont, Susan Brown of College Station and nephew Thomas Brown Jr. of College Station.

Originally from Mississippi, Mr. Murphy was living and working in Illinois when he married and started his family. He has lived in Lumberton since 1979 and was a member of Woodcrest United Methodist Church. Floyd enjoyed listening to country music, gardening and being outdoors. His greatest joy was his family.
