Thompson Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I did not know Douglas at all, but I am a student at Texas State University. I got to attend the vigil in your son's honor, and I was able to witness the many people he had touched while he was at Texas State. On behalf of the Texas State community, your family is in our prayers.

My name is Ashly Tynes and I am a senior at Lumberton High School. I didnt know Doug very well, but I have gone to school with him for a very long time, so that still presents some kind of connection. I want his family to know that our hearts and our prayers go out to them and he will be very missed by all the students who knew him at LHS.
