1916 - 2004

Bobbie L. Drake, 88, of Silsbee, Texas, died Friday, November 19, 2004. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 22, 2004 at First Baptist Church , 350 Hwy 96 South in Silsbee.

Bobbie Drake was born January 28, 1916 in Merryville, LA to Robert Edward (Bob) and Marintha Williamson.

Her husband of 65 years, Rev. F. C. Drake, her son Thomas W. Drake of Silsbee and her brother Marvin S. Williamson preceded her in death,

Mrs. Drake is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lana Drake, and Clyde E. and Joyce Drake, all of Silsbee, and by two daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Art Calloway of Silsbee, and Ann and Lynn Hollister of Lumberton.

Also left to cherish her memories are 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She also leaves one nephew, Robert (Bob) Williamson and his wife Jonnye, and one niece Dana Sykes and her husband Michael.

Mrs. Drake and her husband were ordained ministers with the Assemblies of God. They spent most of their life together in pastoral and evangelistic ministry. Their last pastorate was the Evergreen Assembly of God Church in Silsbee where they pastured more than forty years. During this time they were involved in community and outreach activities. One highlight of this ministry was their commitment to Community Christmas Basket Fund where they raised money to provide Christmas food and gifts for the needy in their community.

For many years, Mrs. Drake served the Women’s Ministries of the South Texas District of the Assemblies of God in leadership and various committees and boards.

She had a passion for reading and studying the Bible, for ministering to children, and for supporting and praying for missionaries in foreign countries.

The love of her life was her husband, her children and grandchildren.

“She watches over the ways of her household, and her children rise up and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:27-28.
