Keller Daniel Briscoe was born January 19, 1908 in Westfield, Illinois. He was one of thirteen children born to Heber Rexford Briscoe and Lydia Doran Briscoe and the only surviving member of his family.
After graduating from high school, he began working for Magnolia Petroleum Company at the age of eighteen. He married Ruth Ann Hahn and they had three daughters, Lois Ann Hewell, Della Ruth May (deceased) and Hester Bell. He was transferred several times with Magnolia, now called Exxon Mobil, and lived in Oklahoma and various places in Texas. He retired from Mobil as manager at the Hull-Daisetta Underground Storage Facility.
His second wife, A. V. Briscoe predeceased Keller in 2001. They resided in Daisetta, Texas.
Keller loved to hunt and fish and was involved in lots of outdoor activities. He had an expert eye for spotting a squirrel while driving through the woods. He stayed busy after retirement by reading and tinkering on all kinds of equipment.
He taught his children to work hard by example. There was never a repairman called to the Briscoe home. He could fix anything in the home or on his pick-up truck. He loved his family – his three daughters and his grandchildren.
Keller passed away peacefully one month shy of his 97th birthday to be with God. A private interment will be held in Guedry Cemetery.
