Ravelle “Rich” Richardson passed away in his home in Silsbee on January 9, 2005. He was a fifth generation Texan born in Jasper County, Texas on July 4, 1913. His youth was spent in Buna, Texas with his father and mother, Leonard and Linnie Richardson, and his brothers, Everett, Morris, Leon and Eldridge and a sister, Evelyn Hollingsowrth of Prescott, Arizona who survives him.
He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company after many years of service at the Port Arthur and Beaumont plants.
He is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Frances Richardson and her children and spouses; Sheila and Jim McMurray, Michael and Theresa Murphy and Sharon and Steve Diden and their children and grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter, Rosalie Bean of Vidor, four grandchildren, Vance Richardson of Costa Rica, Jay Richardson of Dickinson, Texas. Charlise Quast and husband, Steve of Vidor and Janie Bean of Irving, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Carrie and Coby Herford of Vidor, two step grandchildren, Trudi Davis and Brad Davis and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Leonard Richardson.
Services will be held at the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in Buna, Texas at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2005 with interment at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Elder Don Johnson of Greensboro, North Carolina, a long time dear friend will conduct the service.
