Funeral services for Ferne Elizabeth Hawkins, 78, of Lumberton will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Lumberton with Reverend Russell Fite conducting the service. Interment will follow in R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Farmer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hawkins died February 16, 2005 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
She was a native of Loveland, Colorado and had lived in Lumberton many years.
Mrs. Hawkins was a retired school teacher and worked with the Card Ministry of First Baptist Church in Lumberton. She also helped organize the Day of Joy for the church.
Survivors include son David Von Feldt and wife, Kathy of Lumberton; daughters, Judy Buchanan and husband Gary, of New Iberia, Louisiana and Nancy Fear of Onalaska; sister Dorothy Oliver of Seattle, Washington; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
