Helen Marie Getty, 73, of Silsbee died March 7, 2005 at Silsbee Convalescent Center in Silsbee. Funeral services are pending. Services are pending at Rairigh Funeral Home in Hillsdale, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Getty was a native of Cherryhill Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania and had lived in Silsbee many years. She was a retired custodian for Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Paul Steele Getty Sr., parents, E. Earl & Edna Nicewonger; granddaughter, Tiffany Getty and sisters, Cleda Pounds, Ruby Jamison, Mae Emigh and Irene Smail.
Survivors include sons Paul Getty Jr. of Denmark, Wisconsin, Earl Getty of Altoona, Pennsylvania, Kenneth Getty of Chesapeake, Maryland and Francis Getty of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia; daughters Laura Harrison of Silsbee, Edna Maurice of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, Letecia Morgan of Pt. Arthur; brothers Curtin Nicewonger of Virden, Illinois, David Nicewonger of Erie, Pennsylvania and George Niecewonger of Erie, Pennsylvania; eighteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
