Juanell, Lynda & Laverne, I'm having a hard time trying to put what I feel about Max into words. When I played basketball and then was team manager for Mrs. Langston, he was like the Asst. Coach - always there with soothing words of encouragement. I spent many nights and weekends with Laverne & always thought of him as my second dad! I can't remember him not being there, so I don't know when he had time to actually work! He always called me, and I'm sure many other Fred girls he had to chauffeur from Warren or Wildwood to Fred, the "Queen of Fred". Well, Max, this 'Queen' is really going to miss your smiling face!!

My heart is saddened today because we've lost one of the most special people that lived. I have great memories of staying with Laverne after ballgames and on weekends and I can never remember either Max or Juanell getting "out of sorts" with us, even though there was a houseful of kids! He always referred to me and Jan Yawn Partain, and probably many other of Juanell's 'girls' as the "Queen of Fred". Well, Mr. Langston, from one of your many 'Queens' - You will always have a special place in our hearts!!
