Funeral services for Joseph Rupert Rivers, 82, of Silsbee will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2005 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Rivers died April 15, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Zwolle, LA he was a longtime resident of Silsbee. Mr. Rivers was a Union Representative for the International Woodworker’s of The World and was a Navy Veteran of WW II.
Survivors include wife Flaudine Rivers of Silsbee; son and daughter-in-law Timothy Charles and Carolyn Rivers of Argyle; daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Bennie Smith of Latexa; brothers and sisters-in-law Andrewand Opal Rivers and Melvin and Josephine Rivers all of Silsbee; sister and brother-in-law Clara and Ozel Garcia of Zwolle, LA; grandchildren Thaxton Rivers and wife Mandi, Eustacy Smith Sullivan and husband Thomas, Hillary and Aaron Smith; great grandchildren Preston Gwin, Kami Sullivan, Trey Sullivan and Page Sullivan.
