Funeral services for Charles Avery Whitmire, Sr., 79, of Buna, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment at Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitmire died April 28, 2005 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was a lifelong resident of Buna. Charles was maintenance supervisor at Temple Inland for thirty-four years and served in the U. S. Army during World War 2.
Survivors include wife, Harriett Whitmire of Buna; sons, Charles A. Whitmire, Jr. and wife Patricia, of Pocatello, Idaho, Mark Steven Whitmire and wife Jo of Silsbee; daughter, Susan Marie Schaber and husband Kenton of Alder Flats, Canada; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
