MIRIAM C. “MIRO” SMITH
Miriam Smith, 80, of Fred, Texas passed away May 17, 2005 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Born August 23, 1924 in Fred, she had lived in Beaumont for many years before moving back to Fred when her husband retired. She was retired from Warren School District.
Preceded in death by her Husband Herbert H. Smith and one granddaughter, she is survived by her son, Jack Wayne Smith and wife Barbara of Fred; daughter, Joan Harper and husband Butch of Hemphill; grandchildren: Nicole Knott and husband Joe of Moss Bluff, LA, Lyle Harper and wife Gina of Huffman, Brooke Stewart and husband William of Hemphill; and great grandchildren; Kristin, Justin, Landin and Reagin Knott, Mandy and Mike Harper, and Clete, Robin and Dallas Stewart. She is also survived by her brothers John Robert Callaway of Barlow Lakes and Pate Callaway of Town Bluff and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Farmers Funeral Home in Silsbee Thursday from 5 – 9 p.m. To honor her wishes a graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday May 20, 2005 at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
Her children wish to extend an invitation to family and friends to join them in fellowship and a celebration of her life following the service at her home in Fred.
