Funeral services for Martha Rae McKinney Boothe, 77, of Plano will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment in Resthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Boothe passed away June 19, 2005 at Plano Medical Center. Martha was born September 12, 1927 in Camp Eleven, Tyler County, Texas. She had lived in Richardson, Texas for many years prior to moving to the Heritage Manor Healthcare Center in Plano due to her failing health.
While living in Richardson, she was active in her church and served as a volunteer for several programs benefiting the needy, elderly and shut-ins. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Martha was a strong Christian believer and treasured the Pentecostal heritage given to her by her parents. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker and a loving and caring wife to her husband and mother to her children.
Martha grew up in Silsbee and attended Silsbee schools. After graduating, she attended Cheniers Business College. She married Earl Boothe October 28, 1947. Earl was employed with Sun Oil Company and while raising their family, they lived in Liberty, Anahuac, Baytown and Richardson, where they retired. Martha and Earl celebrated fifty-one years of marriage prior to his death.
Mrs. Boothe was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Boothe; her parents, Reverend Albert and Myra Hall McKinney; sisters, Edna McKinney Denson and Edith McKinney Strickland and brothers, Percy and Albert McKinney.
She is survived by three sons, Dr. Tom Boothe and wife, Ginger of Sherman, Texas, Dr. William Boothe and wife, Wendy of Dallas, Texas and Ray Boothe and wife, Shari of Katy, Texas; one daughter, Pamela Boothe of Richardson, Texas and ten grandchildren. Brothers, Martin McKinney and Pete McKinney, both of Silsbee and Phillip McKinney of Houston, Texas and sister, Myra Wedgeworth of Jasper, Texas also survive her.
